Hello, my name is Nkateko Mondhlana. My love for photography ignited at the age of 16 on a school trip, and from then onwards I continuously developed my unique eye for visual storytelling which was also inspired by the textures in the surrounding streets of my home, Soweto.
I received the Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television at Wits University in 2022. Since then, I have specialised in Photography and Directing, and have worked on multiple campaigns in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Clients include Colorbloc Magazine, L'Équipe, Sun King, The World Intellectual Property Organisation, MaXhosa Africa, Fikile Sokhulu and Makhundaì.
I am also one of the founders and researcher for everythingin;out which is a curatorial collective that is dedicated to presenting fine-art photography in South Africa.
